The Hottest Shades on Amazon for Under $100

Posted on October 31, 2017

Great sunglasses not only protect your peepers from the sun but are also an easy way to update your look. There are so many choices out there so let’s break it down a little and help you narrow your search.

Polarized vs. Non-Polarized

First, let’s talk about polarized versus non-polarized lenses. Polarized lenses block out UVA and UVB rays, both of which can cause permanent damage to your eyes. This helps cut down on the glare when you are outdoors and helps you see things more clearly. Non-polarized lenses provide a darker shade but do not block out the harmful rays. With a non-polarized lens, you may find yourself squinting despite the dark tint on the lens. Either way, you can find both types of lenses in so many styles, sizes, and colors that finding a look you love is easy!

Here are some of our favorite looks, all at prices that won’t break your bank.

Brow Bar

We always see the traditional aviator style sunglasses with the brow bar but now it’s popping up on many different trendy styles. Originally, the brow bar was called the “sweat bar” as it was meant to keep, ahem, sweat, from getting into the eyes of the pilot wearing them. Over time, the name morphed into “brow bar”, which is way cooler in our opinion. We love how the brow bar can make a style look vintage-y or edgy and fresh at the same time.

Geometric Frames

Whether bold and retro or slim and subtle, this is a fun look that can be worn anywhere. This shape looks great on many different face shapes, too. We are loving the chunky frames that make a real statement.

Cat Eye

The cat eye never goes out of style and for good reason! It looks fabulous on everyone. Whether you are rocking an old-school solid black pair or have a pair blinged-out with crystals, you will be able to wear these for a long time to come. We can’t get enough.

Colored Lenses

We aren’t just talking about rose-colored glasses anymore! An entire rainbow of colored lenses is out there to choose from. From beautiful coppery browns to bright and splashy neons, finding your perfect shade will be just as much fun as wearing them.

Clear Frames and Lenses

The clear frame has been around for ages but has really come to the forefront in 2017. We have also seen the clear lens become a popular look as well. This kind of defeats the purpose of a “sunglass” but we are seeing celebs like Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner rocking this look and we think it looks as cool as ice.

Oval

Give a nod to the late Kurt Cobain with this great oversized look. Although he boldly wore them in a glossy white, they are available in all different colors. If you are looking for something less dramatic, a simple oval frame is always in fashion, too.

Rimless Styles

These are known for having a simple, sleek, and “intellectual” look. However, mirrored and colored lenses add the fun back into this style. This style is easy to wear and you can find it in just about any shape to flatter your face.
